About Me

Hi, my name is Riona! I’m a passionate and experienced music teacher who loves helping students grow in confidence and creativity. I studied Music Performance at Chichester University, focusing on singing and violin, before completing my PGCE at the University of Suffolk. Through this training, I discovered how much I enjoy supporting musicians in performance and boosting confidence, which eventually led me to private music tuition.

I teach violin, viola, piano, and singing, and I’ve also had the joy of running choirs and other musical ensembles. I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities, and I always aim to create lessons that are supportive, flexible, and tailored to each person’s goals. My approach balances building strong technique with encouraging a genuine love for music.

Outside of teaching, I stay active as a musician by singing in choirs, playing in orchestras, and performing in pit bands for shows. I love a wide range of musical styles—classical, jazz, musical theatre, pop, and more—and I enjoy bringing that variety into my teaching to inspire students to explore and enjoy their own musical journeys.
